Joining our Veg Box Scheme

By purchasing this product you are signing up for our Veg Box scheme which runs from late May – Oct. Our Regular Veg Boxes come packed with at least 6 portions of delicious produce, freshly harvested on the day of collection for unbeatable freshness and nutritional quality.

By signing up for our Veg Box scheme, you agree to support us in exchange for a share in our harvest. When we have abundance, we’ll share it with you – for example, lots of apples and plums in August and September, and green tomato week is always a treat! When crops are struggling or the weather is being even more difficult than usual, we’ll try our best to ensure value for money and diversity in our boxes – but ask that you accept that this might not always be possible.

How do I get my Veg Box

We ask that you collect your Veg Box from our Gardens in the East End of Glasgow, or from our partner organisation in the Southside of Glasgow.

Collection times:

3-6pm on Thursdays and 10-1pm on Fridays at the garden. 

11am-5pm Fri-Sun from our Southside collection point. 

Please note that neither collection points are Wheelchair Accessible. If you would still like to sign up but would face barriers because of this, get in touch at hello@thewashhousegarden.co.uk and we can try to match you with another customer who lives nearby.

All produce in our Veg Boxes is grown on-site by our small team of staff and wonderful volunteers. As such our boxes are filled with a changing mix of hearty root veg, salad greens, fresh fruit, delicious herbs and tasty treats like tomatoes and chillies, as the seasons and the success of our crops allow. . We ask that our customers collect their Veg Boxes from us, this allows us to focus on what we’re good at – growing food and keeps our project sustainable by reducing costs. We’re based in Parkhead, in the East End of Glasgow. Everything in our boxes is grown on-site and harvested the day of collection. A £10 sign up fee is required, we use this to purchase reusable bags for your produce that we ask that you return to us and represent a level of commitment to the principles of Community Supported Agriculture.

What if I’m away?

We understand that you might not always be able to collect on a given week. Please provide 2 weeks notice of absence if you would like to be refunded for that week. Otherwise you have the option to donate the produce, we make weekly donations to other community projects in the East End and can add your Veg Box to the donation.

We ask that customers commit to the Veg Box scheme as much as possible, this allows us to plan our season and keeps our project viable.

Is the produce organic?

Yes! But not organic-certified, we chose not to go through certification as its costly and labour intensive. But we guarantee that all our produce is grown organically and to agroecological principles. If you would like to see how we do things, pop along to one of our Volunteer Sessions.
