Join us for the first event in our workshop series ‘Flowers of Resistance & Ritual’ this summer. Working in collaboration with Remedy Fields, a local regenerative flower grower, the programme aims to make space for creative exploration with flowers of political and cultural significance from around the world.Â
In July, Dr Em Armstrong will introduce us to the world of Queer Ecology and flowers as potent queer cultural symbols throughout history. In particular, we will learn about queered methods of floral reproduction and practice dissection together. This is a chance to use flowers as a portal to understand what Queer Ecology might mean for each of us, and build kinship with the plants that grow in the Wash House Garden.
